Bandite di Scarlino

  • How to get there: from Marina di Scarlino go to the south along the coast. Each access to the sea is different and fascinating.
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: Half day or full day
  • Suitable for who loves the sea. It includes routes suitable for both trekking and mountain biking, with the possibility to stop along the beaches Cala Martina, Cala Violina and Cala Civette.

 

Convent of Monte Muro

  • How to get there: from the SP 60 turn at the junction of the strut Fooso Al Leccione. Leave the car and walk for about 5 km
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: Half day or full day
  • Suitable for passionate about history, nature and art. In some parts of the path, you’ll in a medieval atmosphere. Finally, you can see some plant species, which in past centuries was imported from North America, such as the Atlantic cedar and Douglas fir.

Farma Valley

  • How to get there: from Grosseto you reach Roccastrada and then along towards Torniella. Before the town Piloni turn right onto the road of “Belagaio”. The area is always open.
  • Difficulty: Hard
  • Duration: Full day
  • Suitable for passionate about flora and fauna. You will admire rare flora such as Santolina, Bosso and Heather. Much of the north-facing slopes of the Reserve host chestnut trees, while in the sunnier slopes there is often the cork. Among the fauna you can admire the otter, the marten, the polecat, the wild cat and many species of fish in the nearby pond.

 

Biancane’s Park

  • How to get there: from Massa Marittima you take the SS439 (13.6 km), turn left onto the SS398 then left again for the SP136 and you get to Monterotondo Marittimo.
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Duration: Half day or full day
  • Suitable for passionate about geology. The Biancane are famous for the evaporative emissions and to the way the energy has changed the natural habitat and the typical colors of the nature of the Metalliferous Hills.
