Trekking and Mountain Biking
La Cianella is the ideal starting point for outdoor enthusiasts, with trekking, mountain biking and walking routes through the Maremma landscape. The Bandite di Scarlino has over 40 numbered trails that descend from the woods to the sea and offer breathtaking views and routes for all levels.
We provide a secure, locked room for cyclists to store their bikes, with charging facilities. If you don't have your own bike, don't worry — you can easily rent one through our partners, either by email or at reception. You can even hire a dedicated guide.
Tuscany Trail
Gravel and MTB enthusiasts will also appreciate La Cianella's strategic location along the Tuscany Trail route, home to the world's largest bikepacking event. We are located within the long and short loops of this fascinating 'no race' adventure.
Enjoy unique natural landscapes, medieval villages and cities of art, followed by well-deserved relaxation in the peaceful surroundings of Relais La Cianella in Scarlino.
Golf
Some of the best known golf clubs in Tuscany and Italy are located in the immediate vicinity of Scarlino: Golf Club Toscana – Il Pelagone (8km), Punta Ala (20km) and further away (60-75 minutes by car) the golf clubs of Saturnia and Monte Argentario.
Horseback Riding
The Maremma is dotted, in the hills as well as at the seaside, with numerous riding stables, some of which have agreements with La Cianella. Ask for information at the reception.
Seaside activities
If you are a daredevil on the waves, at Puntone di Scarlino the equipped beach offers the possibility of trying your hand at kite surfing, canoeing or windsurfing.
If instead you want to discover the splendid seabeds of the Isola dello Sparviero or Cerboli and the other islands of the Tuscan Archipelago, the Diving Center of Marina di Scarlino awaits you.
